My name is Jaylaan Ahmad-Llewellyn. I am a 42-year old, multi-racial, solo mother of a 2-year old boy named Rhys.
Real estate and interior design have been my passion for over 20 years. In that time, I’ve worked on some fantastic projects and connected with some real pros. I’m grateful for each and every one of those life-altering experiences. But my experiences in real estate haven’t all been successful. And, I’m grateful for that, too, because now I’ve learned the importance of celebrating my successes and my failures. Each one of those failures has helped me to learn something new, build up my confidence, and get a bit smarter.
For me, working in real estate is just like life itself, full of mistakes and misadventures—a great opportunity to learn.
So, that’s where I am now! And I’m ready to start building my first house from scratch—and this will also be the first time I’ve built a home for people other than myself.
I invite you to join me on this ride as I conceptualize craft, and create.
Here’s to Brown Girl Builds’ future!
